SHARE YOUR TREASURE

Are you looking for a simple way to support Catholic Education? Nothing could be easier than making a cash contribution. It's the most common gift and the one you probably think of first.

All charitable contributions of cash are deductible, in the year of the donation, up to 50% of your adjusted gross income, if you itemize. Any excess donations can be carried forward for the next five years.

There are several types of cash contributions you can make:

  • Annual of Year End Gifts
  • Periodic gifts through collections or "we share program"
  • Gifts "In Memory" or "In Honor of"
  • Gifts "in Lieu" of flowers

LONG TERM GIVING - SHARE YOUR SUCCESS AND LEAVE A LEGACY

  • LIFE INSURANCE : Do you have life insurance policies that are no longer needed? You may either donate the life insurance policy to us, or name the St.Joseph School Foundation as beneficiary.
  • BEQUESTS: Have you made provisions in your will to benefit the Foundation? Bequests are the most popular types of planned gifts. Anything you leave to the Foundation (as a charitable organization) will reduce the size of your taxable estate and help support the school.
  • SECURITIES: Are you looking to make changes to your portfolio? Stocks and publicly traded securities are easy to give and offer great tax advantages.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE- SHARE YOUR RESOURCES

  • REAL ESTATE: Do you have a piece of real estate you no longer wish to upkeep? A gift of real estate offers you the chance to make a significant charitable contribution with a tax friendly outcome.
  • BANK ACCOUNTS AND CD'S: Are you aware that you can name the Foundation as the "payable on death" beneficiary of you bank accounts (checking and savings), or on any Certificate of Deposit? You own the assets for your lifetime and have them available for your use. Upon your death, the assets pass directly to the Foundation without going through probate. Simply visit your bank and request to name a beneficiary designation on your accounts or Certificates of Deposit. You will be asked to fill out a form, and you can ask to change beneficiary designations at any time.
  • RETIREMENT PLAN ASSETS:  Are you looking for a solution for giving through your retirement plan? Because our tax laws subject retirement plan assets to the highest combined income and estate taxes, charitable donation of these assets may be the most efficient estate planning option. Also, if you are subject to RMD (required minimum distribution) you may be able to gain tax advantages by directing your withdrawal to the Foundation.
